Blue Hydrogel plasters

Blue Hydrogel Plasters from Detectaplast are specialized metal‑detectable first‑aid dressings designed for professional users in sectors where food safety, hygiene, and contamination control are critical, such as food processing plants, industrial kitchens, and catering operations. These plasters combine the protective benefits of traditional first‑aid dressings with advanced hydrogel wound technology, making them particularly effective for managing cuts, abrasions, minor burns, overheated skin, and wounds that heal slowly.

The core of these plasters is a hydrogel compress containing approximately 60 % water, which absorbs wound fluid and creates a moist wound environment that supports faster skin regeneration and healing. This hydrated layer also provides a mild cooling effect, helping to soothe pain and discomfort at the injury site. Unlike dry wound pads, hydrogel dressings do not stick to the wound, resulting in gentler removal and reduced trauma to healing skin.

Encasing the hydrogel is a breathable PU (polyurethane) waterproof film, which protects the wound against water, dirt, bacteria, and viruses, while still allowing gases and moisture vapour to pass through, helping prevent skin maceration. The strong hypoallergenic adhesive ensures the plaster stays securely in place even under wet conditions typical of food‑handling environments.

Because they are bright blue and contain an aluminium foil insert, these plasters are both visually distinctive and metal‑detectable, helping companies meet strict food safety standards such as HACCP, BRC, and IFS and reducing the risk of contamination entering the food chain.

Blue Hydrogel Plasters come in various sizes (e.g., 67 × 110 mm, 43 × 68 mm) and are ideal for professional hygiene‑critical settings where wound care and safety protocols must be rigorously maintained.
