Anti-Vibration Mechanism

The anti-vibration mechanism inside the MIRI® AVT functions as a passive damping device, aimed at reducing the vibration generated on the AVT platform. Through a meticulous selection of mass and support rigidity, the mechanism efficiently minimizes vibrations. However, it’s important to note that while this mechanism partially reduces vibrations, it may not completely eliminate them.
Floors inherently vibrate at low frequencies across various structures, potentially affecting the performance of high-magnification microscopes.
