Description

The SpiroScout is designed for professional respiratory diagnostics, combining ultrasound transit-time flow sensing with simultaneous measurement of gas density (molar mass) for extremely accurate spirometric data. It supports a wide range of tests – including forced vital capacity (FVC), slow vital capacity (SVC), maximum voluntary ventilation (MVV), tidal breathing, and optional modules such as capnovolumetry or rhinomanometry. With no warm-up time required, minimal maintenance, and a compact footprint, it fits easily into pulmonary function labs, hospitals, clinics, or mobile respiratory units. The system is compatible with the LFX software platform for full data management, quality control per ATS/ERS guidelines, interpretation, and reporting.

The SpiroScout is a complete lung function laboratory based on GANSHORN`s unique ultrasound measurement principle. It enables the precise determination of all spirometric parameters.

As the first of its kind, the SpiroScout simultaneously measures flow and gas density, providing all necessary information about the volume and gas exchange from one single measurement.

Features
  • High-precision spirometry due to direct flow measurement
  • The sensor is not influenced by humidity, barometric pressure, or contamination
  • Used with ScoutTubes, the hygienic mouthpiece for single-patient use
  • Different options available, such as rhinomanometry, oscillatory resistance, emphysema test, and dead space analysis
  • Calibration-free ultrasound flow measurement (“SharpFlow”) with high precision and low dead space.

  • Simultaneous flow and molar mass measurement for real-time BTPS (body temperature, pressure, saturated) correction.

  • Wide flow-range (0 to ±18 L/s) and volume-range (0 to ~30 L) with high accuracy.

  • Compact, lightweight sensor module (~1 kg) for easy placement; system powered via USB.

  • Hygienic mouthpiece/filter system (ScoutTube) for minimal resistance and high patient comfort across age groups.

  • Full compatibility with LFX software: patient management, quality control, customizable reports, and integration into respiratory labs.

  • Optional expansions: tidal breathing analysis (for children/low-cooperation patients), capnovolumetry, rhinomanometry.

  • Fast setup, minimal upkeep, and excellent fit for both adult and paediatric testing.
