Therapy information

Deep oscillation (DEEP OSCILLATION®) is a unique, patented therapy method. By utilising electrostatic attraction and friction, impulses cause the treated tissue to vibrate pleasantly with a deep biological effect. In contrast to other forms of therapy, these vibrations have an extremely gentle and deep effect on all tissue components (skin, conductive tissue, subcutaneous fatty tissue, muscles, blood and lymph vessels). The following physiological effects of DEEP OSCILLATION® therapy have been clinically documented:

  • Pain reduction
  • oedema resorption
  • Promotion of wound healing
  • Trophic improvement
  • Improvement of tissue quality

During therapy, the patient holds a titanium contact element loosely between the fingers. The pleasant therapeutic effect of deep oscillation is created under the therapist’s gloves or the hand applicator, which is moved in a circular motion over the tissue. Thanks to its non-invasive, non-traumatic and highly effective approach, DEEP OSCILLATION® is particularly suitable for the following applications:

Pre- and post-operative therapy
DEEP OSCILLATION® can be used to eliminate haematomas, swelling and oedema pre- and post-operatively much faster than with conventional therapies. Extremely early application inhibits local inflammatory processes and promotes wound healing processes, while pain is reduced in the long term. The quality of scarring is improved. DEEP OSCILLATION® is therefore often used routinely as adjuvant post-operative therapy, for example in oncology, neurology and traumatology. Due to its extremely gentle therapeutic effect, DEEP OSCILLATION® is used as a “first-line” therapy after mastectomy, osteosynthesis, endoprostheses and caesarean section, among others.

Lymphoedema
The use of DEEP OSCILLATION® leads to a reduction in volume in primary and secondary lymphoedema. The therapy is also being used increasingly and successfully for lipoedema. DEEP OSCILLATION® has a fibrosis-prophylactic and anti-fibrotic effect: incipient fibrosis in particular can be treated effectively. Various parameters relating to skin quality are significantly improved.

Mechanical trauma and overuse injuries
DEEP OSCILLATION® has an immediate oedema-reducing and pain-relieving effect in the case of trauma and overuse injuries, consecutively promoting pain-free self-mobilisation and thus enabling active movement at an early stage. For athletes, this means an earlier start to active forms of therapy and training, and for “normal patients” a quicker return to activities of daily living.

Secondary wound healing
DEEP OSCILLATION® is being used more and more frequently for secondary wound healing, unfortunately often only as a last resort. DEEP OSCILLATION® is an efficient adjuvant treatment option for both surgery-related and diabetic wound healing disorders, as well as oedematous secondary wound healing.

Burns
DEEP OSCILLATION® significantly accelerates and improves the quality of wound healing in 2nd degree burns.

Chronic pain conditions
For indications accompanied by chronic pain, such as fibromyalgia syndrome or Sudeck’s disease, DEEP OSCILLATION® has a lasting effect on reducing the intensity and quality of pain, often leading to a reduction in the amount of medication taken. The treatment promotes movement to a high degree, counteracts muscle stiffness and impairment of activities of daily living, and has a consecutive positive effect on symptoms of exhaustion, anxiety and depression.

Neurorehabilitation
In stroke rehabilitation, DEEP OSCILLATION® is used to improve the trophism of partially paralysed areas of the body and to reduce spasms in affected areas, including lymphatic drainage, for example to decongest the head area. In children with cerebral palsy and tetraplegia, the therapy is also used very successfully to reduce spasms and treat intestinal obstruction.

Features
  • In order to avoid rocking and swinging movements of the lying surfaces, the therapy tables are manufactured with precision double square profiles.
  • The manual height adjustment is done with a hand crank using maintenance-free gear with an optimal transmission ratio (i = 10mm/rev) for smooth, quick and easy operation, without much effort, even with heavier patients (up to 150 kg). After use, the crank handle can be pushed back under the tabletop.
  • The hydraulic height adjustment is operated via the centrally built-in foot pump. The height adjustment of the therapy table can of course also be done with heavier patients (up to 150 kg) without any major effort. In order to be able to operate the hydraulics from both sides, it is possible to install an additional foot lever. This is available for an additional charge (Article No.: FPH-10).
  • The electric motor height adjustment is controlled via a hand switch (alternatively - at no extra charge - via a foot switch) and can of course also be carried out with heavy patients (up to 150 kg). The electric drive used is maintenance-free and extremely quiet. The adjustment system is equipped with a key lock. Motor connection values: 230V, 50/60 Hz., 3.7A, 850W, IPX4, v=11mm/s, 10,000N.
  • The wide extension of the substructure, which is equipped with a mobile base on retractable castors ensures a high level of stability, even under stress load.
  • With the retractable castors system, the universal therapy table is lifted onto castors (Ø 75 mm) using foot control or lowered onto feet for standing.
  • The thickness of the seven upholstery segments (armrests, head, back, seat and leg sections) is 64 mm each.
