SPROTTE-Needles for Atraumatic Spinal Anaesthesia

$4.20

Shipped From Abroad

With the introduction of the first atraumatic Sprotte needle at the end of the 1970s, spinal anesthesia was rehabilitated as a fully accepted alternative to general anesthesia. A unique tip design is the secret of its success. Sprotte ́s atraumatic puncture and optimal gliding properties minimize possible injuries and prevent foreign bodies and tissue particles from being carried into the subarachnoid space while reducing the incidence of post-dural puncture headache (PDPH).

Delivery & Availability:
Typically 10-21 working days – excluding furniture and heavy/bulky equipment. Please contact us for further information.

  • The ogive shaped tip significantly reduces the risk of PDPH and the rounded edges of the lateral eye minimise trauma to the dura mater
  • Minimises chance of PDPH3
  • Consistent tactile feedback

Lateral Eye

  • Burr-free rounded atraumatic edges
  • Optimized gliding properties
  • Minimum chance of tissue coring and carry-over into the subarachnoid space

Highest Processing Quality

  • High-quality stainless steel needle for increased stability
  • Smoothly polished and burr-free surface and inner lumen designed for optimized gliding properties and CSF backflow
  • Consistent feel and reliable performance

Optimal Lateral Eye Size and Placement

  • Unobstructed backflow, even if the eye is partially blocked by the arachnoid membrane
  • Allows for quicker CSF flashback

Precision-Ground Metal Stylet

  • Lateral eye closes precisely to minimize chance of tissue coring2
  • Polished, rounded tip prevents abrasion on the inner needle tube

Standard Hub

  • Designed for rapid detection of even the smallest quantities of CSF
  • Reduced inner space

Magnifying Hub

  • Clear, magnifying needle hub allows for easy visualization of blood or CSF
  • Easier detection of CSF flashback

Color-coded Needle Hub with Size Indication

  • Easy identification of needle size

Introducer with Facet Tip

  • Diameter and length perfectly matched to each spinal needle size
  • Minimal reduction of useable working length of the spinal needle
  • Funnel-shaped hub to reduce the chance of spinal needle tip damage during insertion

Portfolio Excellence

  • Spirometer cardboard paper mouth piece are suitable for use with the  spirometer.
  • Significantly reduces the risk of cross-infection between patients.
  • Essential Spirometry Consumables.
  • The mouthpiece used in spirometric testing may vary from instrument to instrument.
  • It is essential that the patient puts it between the teeth with the lips around it, so that the air can pass freely and the mouthpiece is sealed firmly by the lips.
  • Dentures are best left in place because they provide essential support to cheeks and lips; however, if they fit poorly and obstruct airflow during the maneuvers it is better to remove them from the mouth.

A practical way to reduce the exposure of pregnant women to ultrasound - listen to the baby''s heartbeat with Pinard Stethoscope, part of the midwife''s basic equipment. Advantages:
  • You are hearing this baby''s heart beating with your own ears and not the ultrasound Doppler effect converted by technology back into sound. What you are hearing is direct; it is not computed or averaged by a hand-held Doppler or a CTG.
  • Several people do not wish any ultrasound to be used, unless there is a clear indication 3) Much more economical than other conventional alternatives.
  • Spirometer cardboard paper mouth piece are suitable for use with the  spirometer.
