The CON-TREX LP leg press is an isokinetic test and training device for the entire movement chain of the leg extensors and flexors. It allows dosed, measurable forces from a few to 6000 N at speeds of up to 1 m/s. Separate footplates enable training unilaterally on the left or right, bilaterally on both legs or even alternately. The variably adjustable footplate holders can be used to specifically test and improve the stability of the ankle joints. The backrest, which is synchronized with the seat angle adjustment, can be lowered to the horizontal position at any time. The low seat height makes it easier to place patients with limited mobility.
The high precision of the dosed, measurable forces and the exceptional properties of the movement control provided by the drive system result in an extremely versatile area of application on a minimal work area of just 1.8 x 2.5 meters including the control module.
Due to the functional movement, the entire muscle chain of the lower extremities is strengthened, while at the same time coordination is improved and joint stability is increased. The optimally adapted load and exertion of the (atrophied) muscles over the entire range of motion leads to a very rapid increase in muscle strength and a significant improvement in coordination. All of this takes place without excessive strain on the joints, especially in physiologically unfavorable positions.
Typically 10-21 working days – excluding furniture and heavy/bulky equipment. Please contact us for further information.

Therapy information
CON-TREX is used in the early diagnostic and preventive therapy of musculoskeletal injuries in outpatient rehabilitation and in the clinic. It is also used in scientific research and performance optimization and enables careful specific problem analysis and thus highly efficient training of high-performance athletes.
CON-TREX devices are suitable for measurement and analysis due to their high precision and are therefore particularly suitable for scientific use. In training and therapy, they aim to improve muscular (in the strength and strength endurance areas) and sensorimotor skills. Thanks to its versatile measurement options and attractive exercise software, CON-TREX is ideally suited for the following applications
CON-TREX enables early diagnosis and prevention of damage or injuries to the musculoskeletal system in outpatient rehabilitation and in clinical use.
Diagnosis and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal deficits
Muscular imbalances can disrupt the optimal movement sequence and have a damaging effect on joints, or be desired or required for a specific sport. CON-TREX helps to record, detect and analyze these. In addition, the CON-TREX devices can be used efficiently to eliminate muscular imbalances. A particular advantage is that the movement being tested can be trained at the same time.
Joint replacement
The CON-TREX devices are used primarily in the field of geriatric rehabilitation after artificial joint replacement. Patients can train actively and at a reasonable speed even if their muscle strength is very low and improve their muscle strength. This keeps the loss of strength as low as possible and the mobility of the joints is maintained or improved.
In the case of neurologically caused performance impairments, such as after brain injuries or strokes, regaining coordination and control over muscle work is the focus of rehabilitative work. The German Society of Neurology calls for early functional mobilization of patients after strokes. CON-TREX is suitable for this because it offers the possibility of exercise and training in continuous passive movement mode: the patient’s affected limb is moved by CON-TREX and the patient can simultaneously try to control and move the limb themselves. CON-TREX simultaneously visualizes the patient’s current performance, i.e. the training is followed on the screen in real time and even the smallest progress can be immediately followed. This helps motivate the patient to increase the effectiveness of the rehabilitation through their active participation. This can only be achieved to a limited extent with “classic” training methods. Biofeedback training, especially under submaximal load, not only enables the efficient correction of muscular deficits, but is also an excellent method for improving coordination skills.
CON-TREX devices are used in competitive sports primarily for the objective assessment of the physical condition and optimization of the training process of competitive and high-performance athletes. With various strength tests that are carried out at regular intervals, coaches and athletes receive precise feedback on the effectiveness of their training. In the context of movement analyses to optimize the sport-specific movement sequence, precise problem analyses can also be carried out using combined EMG evaluations. In the rehabilitation of competitive athletes after injuries, CON-TREX devices enable highly efficient training and thus contribute to the sensible use of the injury time.
Thanks to the high measurement accuracy of the CON-TREX® devices, an objective evaluation of each patient with the highest possible validity is possible. CON-TREX® archives all relevant system parameters that could be useful for a scientific evaluation. In addition, the unique ballistic mode ensures a smooth movement and measurement process. The active gravity compensation enables an absolute and relative view of the values. For use in science and research, the CON-TREX® devices set an unprecedented high standard in terms of measurement accuracy and reproducibility of the parameters recorded.
Selected use cases
- Hemiparesis (after stroke)
- Leg strength measurement (bilateral) in a closed system
- Leg strength measurements with rigid or flexible footplates
- Continuous passive movement therapy (CPRT) of the legs
- Leg strength measurement (unilateral) in a closed system
- Fall prevention with closed system
