Epidural anesthesia is considered the gold standard among anesthesia methods for facilitating labor. It is recommended by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and is estimated to be used in 10 to 64 % of cases in high-income countries. As a neuraxial labor anesthesia technique, it is invasive but remains the most effective and one of the most commonly used methods of pain relief during labor. Even after a prior Cesarean section, EDA is advocated by German, British, and American professional societies for subsequent attempts at VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean Section). As a perioperative anesthesia technique, the epidural is also favored for the majority of open abdominal surgical procedures. It is the most commonly used anesthesia technique for intensive care patients.
Typically 10-21 working days – excluding furniture and heavy/bulky equipment. Please contact us for further information.
