Description
MEDIVENT flow lamps should be used wherever a high level of sterility is required, while personnel are present. Air disinfection in flow lamps takes place within a closed chamber, making them safe for people, animals, and plants present. Contaminated air is drawn into the disinfection chamber by a fan. It first passes through a filter that traps dust and other particles, then flows through the chamber at low speed, directly next to the UV lamps, and is microbiologically cleaned on the outside.
UV-C radiation, including low-pressure mercury discharge (bactericidal lamps), is produced using special quartz glass. This glass has a high transmission coefficient for germicidal radiation, absorbing undesirable UV radiation at 200 nm, which creates ozone in the air. Therefore, TUV lamps produce a negligible amount of ozone, and only during the first 100 hours of operation. However, they emit 95% of their energy at a wavelength of 253.7 nm, which is close to their maximum germicidal effectiveness. The multitude of parameters that must be considered when selecting the number of lamps for a specific room (including fluctuations, temperature, humidity, and dustiness) can lead to an unambiguous formulation, simple rules that precisely explain the problems.
