Description

What are Vertical and Horizontal Laminar Flow Hoods?
Laminar flow hoods, also known as clean benches, provide filtered airflow across the work area to prevent sample contamination. These hoods are suitable for various applications that require a sterile environment and clean air, such as medical and research laboratories, sterile equipment assembly, and electronic device assembly.
Laminar flow hoods typically have either horizontal or vertical airflow. In vertical flow hoods, clean filtered air flows downward from the filter surface on top to the work surface. In horizontal laminar flow cabinets, clean air travels from a filter located behind the work surface towards the operator. The airflow direction is influenced by the procedure type, operator safety, and clearance requirements.
Esco Multi-Zone ART Workstations are vertical airflow laminars that provide filtered air from the top of the workstation towards the working surface for the most optimal safety assurance.
Applications
Personnel protection is not provided by laminar flow hoods or clean benches, as it is done by biosafety cabinets. In the presence of harmful substances, they are ineffective. A biological safety cabinet should be utilized if your application concerns biohazard material.
Multi-zone Workstations are primarily used for In Vitro Fertilization/Assisted Reproductive Treatment, Sample Handling, and are generally suited for non-hazardous applications requiring a clean work environment.
Features

Multi-Zone heating system

Multi-Zone ART Workstations utilize ten distinct zones, each equipped with its own heating elements and sensors, to achieve excellent uniformity. The heating system automatically prioritizes power distribution to ensure accurate temperature regulation and quick recovery. The temperature regulation is constantly active in models with MIRI® chambers, regardless of mode, and there is no crossover of heating across zones. Additionally, the heated glass stage has its own independent heating zone to further enhance temperature control and recovery in this area.

Choice of 4 temperature modes

In the Multi-Zone ART workstation, the user can turn on all zones, turn off the right zones, turn off the right and middle zones, or turn off all zones.

Microscope integration

  • It is possible to integrate the most popular stereoscopic and inverted microscopes.
  • Integrated stereoscope allows users to keep culture dishes at a constant temperature while observing and manipulating them. By limiting unnecessary movements, it is possible to significantly reduce the probability of accidents occurring.

Humidification system

Multi-Zone ART Workstations do not facilitate active humidification level control – it is done passively by transferring gas through water in the humidification bottle. For Workstation models without integrated MIRI® chambers, the gas outlet port in the front can be sealed by a plastic cover and a tube, creating a “semi-closed” environment.

Energy Efficiency

ECM blowers are used in Esco Assisted Reproductive Technology Workstations, enabling minimal cabinet power consumption without sacrificing cabinet performance. It also has a standby mode that helps to save energy while the cabinet is not in use.

Touchscreen monitor

Multi-Zone ART Workstations come with a fully functional Windows PC integrated. This touch-sensitive computer allows the user to:

  • Monitor the temperature of the heated surface, as well as the gas flow and pressure, and generate reports of those parameters.
  • Observe and record cultural behavior in real time via the microscope’s camera.
  • Have teleconference calls with colleagues on other sites for real-time collaborative work.

Isocide Powder Coat

All Multi-Zone ART Workstations are coated with a silver-ion-impregnated powder that improves the safety of the workstation by inhibiting the growth of microbes.

Stainless Steel Tabletop

  • The construction of Multi-Zone ART Workstations incorporates stainless steel for the tabletop surfaces, complemented by the utilization of aluminum to encase the underside of the tabletops. This feature ensures the sturdiness of the work surface while at the same time minimizing the weight of the whole workstation.

Superior Air Cleanliness

Multi-Zone ART Workstations ensure ISO Class 3 air cleanliness, surpassing Class 4 competitors.

Less Noise, Less Vibration

Multi-Zone ART Workstation offers cutting-edge design and features that result in extremely low noise and vibration levels, making it ideal for sensitive microscopic work. It has a smaller, high-efficiency ECM blower that creates less noise and vibrations, as well as a passive damper that runs the length of the link, dampening the cabinet frame with table plate vibrations.

Cable Pass-Through Channels

Multi-Zone  ART workstation has a convenient way for electrical cables of other equipment and/or accessories (i.e., a camera) to pass through its back wall. This provides a cleaner and more organized interior that should help improve your IVF workflow.
