This machines have been developed from the well-proven Series 5A and 5B ECT apparatus. The series 6+ models incorporate all the features of the corresponding Series 5B versions. Experience has shown that a very few patients sometimes require higher dosage than was available with the earlier machines and the opportunity was therefore taken to produce equipment with a second, higher, output range. The H1 Coil stimulates the bilateral prefrontal cortex, with a preference for the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex. In addition to numerous published, double-blind, randomized controlled trials validating the efficacy of Deep TMS for depression, clinical data of over 1,000 patients in real practice settings has shown compelling results. Among patients who completed 30 sessions, approximately 4 out of 5 achieved a clinical response, and approximately 2 out of 3 achieved remission from depression.
